Responsabilidades

La Nube is seeking a Sales and Marketing Director who is motivated by growth, grounded in purpose, and excited to build something meaningful with a strong community impact.

This role strengthens and grows La Nube’s earned revenue by building relationships, developing smart sales strategies, executing marketing campaigns, and creating a clear path that connects guests to experiences they value.

You will oversee the Events, Gift Shop, and Marketing teams and work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer to build a strong, organization-wide sales mindset. This role blends leadership, creativity, and execution and is well suited for someone who enjoys hands on work while also thinking strategically.

This job is for you if you…

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public administration, graphic design, or a related field.
  • AND have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in sales, marketing, strategic initiatives, events, earned revenue, or related work.
  • Experience in building partnerships, programs, or initiatives that drive growth or engagement.
  • Ability to lead, support, and motivate teams in deadline driven environments.
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow up skills.
  • Comfort using data to guide decisions and improve outcomes.

  • Have preferred experience in museums, nonprofits, government, attractions, education, or family-focused organizations.
  • Have preferred experience with event sales, group sales, or retail marketing.
  • Have preferred familiarity with CRM, POS, or ticketing systems.
  • Have preferred strong connection to community based on mission driven work.

Essential Functions

Lead Sales and Earned Revenue Strategy

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that grow earned revenue across:
  • Event bookings
  • Birthday parties
  • Group ticket sales and organizational visits
  • Group fundraisers and partnerships
  • Gift shop campaigns and promotions
  • Build and manage clear sales funnels that move interest into booking and purchases.
  • Identify new opportunities to generate demand through packaging, promotions, and partnerships.

Oversee Events, Gift Shop, and Marketing Teams

  • Lead and support the Events Team to increase inquiries, conversions, and repeat bookings.
  • Work collaboratively with the Advancement Team to secure event sponsorships.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and logistics of high-profile events.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Design team to align creative work with programs, educational initiatives, sales goals, and timelines.
  • Partner with the Retail Manager to grow retail sales through campaigns, seasonal promotions, and product storytelling.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture focused on growth, accountability, and learning.

Campaigns and Marketing Execution

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social channels.
  • Align campaigns with La Nube’s calendar, exhibits, programs, and community initiatives.
  • Keep marketing efforts guest-focused, inclusive, and aligned with La Nube’s mission.

Data, Insights, and Performance

  • Track sales and marketing performance, including conversions, campaign results, and revenue trends.
  • Use data to identify opportunities, address gaps, and adjust strategy.
  • Share insights with leadership to support planning and decision making.

Collaboration and Relationships

  • Work closely with Chief Strategy Officer to align sales and marketing efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with Guest Experience, Finance, Education and Community Engagement teams to align sales efforts with capacity and guest experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with civic leaders, community partners, organizations, and clients to support group sales and event growth.

Physical Demands/Occupational Hazards

This position is highly active. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Observe and react to the needs of guests, team members, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Frequent movement throughout the STEAM Center.
  • Manipulate, lift and/or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending/stooping, kneeling, reaching.
  • Communicate safety hazards.
  • Occasional work in outdoor elements (may consist of harsh heat or cold).
  • Occasional walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Occasional exposure to leaning edges and glass barriers.
  • Observe and enforce State and Federal OSHA safety standards.
