La Nube’s new CEO is an El Paso native with a passion for education

The El Paso Community Foundation and La Nube have named Gina Martinez as CEO of La Nube, starting later this month. She began her career as a special education teacher in Austin, and was inspired by working as a camp counselor at Camp Island Lake in Pennsylvania. “This is an opportunity of a lifetime and a dream realized,” Martinez said. “I started my career working with kids. On my first date with Nick, my husband, he asked what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I wanted summer camp. I feel like this is some of that dream realized.”
