The El Paso Community Foundation and La Nube have named Gina Martinez as CEO of La Nube, starting later this month. She began her career as a special education teacher in Austin, and was inspired by working as a camp counselor at Camp Island Lake in Pennsylvania. “This is an opportunity of a lifetime and a dream realized,” Martinez said. “I started my career working with kids. On my first date with Nick, my husband, he asked what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I wanted summer camp. I feel like this is some of that dream realized.”

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso and Juarez regional business leaders Paul and Alejandra De La Vega Foster have donated $10 million to the capital campaign that will support El Paso’s new children’s museum and STEAM center, La Nube, which is opening this weekend.

El Pasoans gathered Saturday to celebrate the long-awaited grand opening of La Nube – the $72 million science and discovery center approved by voters in 2012.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — La Nube, Downtown El Paso’s new children’s museum and STEAM center, officially opened its doors Saturday morning, Aug. 10 to a sold-out crowd.

El Paso families flocked to the long-awaited La Nube STEAM Discovery Center’s official grand opening on Saturday, Aug. 10, in Downtown.

“There are almost no words to describe the excitement what we feel. This has been 12 years for our community and eight years for the private-public partnership, and we are so excited to welcome the community finally into the doors of La Nube,” said Stephanie Otero, interim CEO of La Nube.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)– The wait is over, La Nube children’s museum is open and attracting hundreds of visitors during their first weekend of business. The long awaited facility has 4 floors, covers 70,000 sq. ft. and has 9 themed stations. Stephanie Otero, Interim CEO of La Nube says “there’s no words to describe how excited we are.”

Officials at La Nube are overjoyed to announce that Paul and Alejandra De La Vega Foster have gifted $10 Million to the capital campaign at El Paso’s STEAM center opening its doors to the public this weekend.

“Paul and Alejandra really have our community at heart. Time and time again, they have stood up and spoken clearly about what’s important here in El Paso and Ciudad Juárez,” said Eric Pearson, President and CEO of the El Paso Community Foundation. “We are grateful to them for so much, and this gift to La Nube is another reason why.”
