Responsabilidades

La Nube is seeking a STEAM Program Facilitator to lead the creation and delivery of engaging, hands-on STEAM learning experiences for K–12 audiences. This role blends teaching, program oversight, and creative design, supporting workshops, STEAM programs, and exhibit-based activities throughout the discovery center. This job is for you if you…

  • Have an associate’s degree or at least five (5) years of demonstrated equivalent work experience.
  • Have proven experience in program management, preferably in an educational or museum setting.
  • Have some knowledge of educational principles, standards, and teaching strategies.
  • Familiarity with child-centered and inquiry-based learning methodologies.
  • Have excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, teachers, and group leaders effectively.
  • Have a strong understanding of accessibility and inclusion practices within educational environments.
  • Have flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings as necessary to accommodate La Nube programs.
  • Able to communicate fluently in English and Spanish is a plus.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate engaging STEAM workshops, camps, school programs, and group experiences aligned with La Nube’s mission and educational goals.
  • Deliver hands-on programs aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
  • Support the implementation of school, camp, and group program curriculum.
  • Lead STEAM experiences for birthday parties, corporate groups, and community programs.
  • Assist in the development of hands-on activities within La Nube’s exhibit zones.
  • Support the curation and facilitation of the Art Wall, including implementing rotating STEAM-inspired prompts.
  • Create inclusive, welcoming, and engaging learning environments for PK–12 learners and families.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Team to implement PK–12 Intersession programs, Summer Camps, workshops, and special events.
  • Stay current on educational best practices and incorporate innovative, playful approaches into facilitation.
  • Gather participant feedback and support evaluation efforts to improve program quality.
  • Maintain materials, supplies, and program spaces to ensure safe and effective learning experiences.
  • Provide excellent guest service and foster positive relationships with teachers, students, and group leaders.
  • Adapt programs to meet diverse learning needs and support accessibility and inclusion practices.
  • Support outreach and promotion efforts by representing La Nube at community events and school engagements as needed.
  • Collaborate with La Nube Team to promote group programs through various channels, including outreach to schools, educational newsletters, and educational networks.
  • Foster positive relationships with teachers, students, and group leaders, providing excellent guest service to ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Stay informed about accessibility and inclusion practices, adapting programs to accommodate diverse needs, and ensuring equitable access to museum experiences.
  • Collaborate with Learning Team on creation and facilitation of La Nube-wide special events and holiday programming for families.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Occupational Hazards
This position is highly active. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Observe and react to the needs of guests, team members, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Frequent movement throughout the STEAM Center.
  • Manipulate, lift and/or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending/stooping, kneeling, reaching, overhead reaching.
  • Communicate safety hazards.
  • Occasional work in outdoor elements (may consist of harsh heat or cold).
  • Occasional walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Occasional exposure to leaning edges and glass barriers.
  • Observe and enforce State and Federal OSHA safety standards.
